It is natural for a kid to be selfish every once in a while. Everyone has their likes and dislikes; their hobbies and pastimesbut how come unwillingness is always at its strongest when it comes to school?

School doesn’t hold everyone’s best interests, but that isn’t what it is here to do. School is for learningthat’s the reason you’re there. One thing that causes students to hate school is the time it starts. Algood Middle School starts approximately at 8:00 AM in the morning and ends at 3:00 PM in the afternoon. I asked around and it didn’t surprise me at all when the feedback I got revolved around getting up so early. Some said that they have to get up at 5:00 AM to get to school on time, others say that they stay up all night playing games, so getting up at 6:30 in the morning is a reason as to why they’re so distracted in classes.

Another thing is the level of boredom. Everyone has an attention span, but not all are as long as others. If you have a short attention span, then if you’re sitting in math class and didn’t get much sleep, you’ll most likely start daydreaming about when you get to go home. When you’re tired, whenever you have to do something, you’ll probably have a bad impression on whatever you’re doing since you don’t feel like doing it. It’s kind of depressing to think about, but that’s how life rolls, I guess.

The last reason I’m going to add is something that only applies to certain people, your grades. Whenever you receive your report card and it isn’t looking that fashionable, or whenever a bad grade gets put into PowerSchool, your parents/guardians will probably get onto you and tell you to study more. According to those that have experienced it, it can be very irritating and you lose privileges due to your lack of good grades.

I imagine that not all of my reasoning is agreeable, but, in the end, not everyone hates school.
