Kindness is the gift that keeps on giving! If you are looking to spread a little kindness, here’s 10 ideas on how to do so!

 

1. Send a text checking in on someone you have not talked to in a while.

Sometimes we forget to check in with friends and family members, but that’s okay! Send them a quick text asking how they have been doing, it will surely brighten their day!

 

2. Smile!

Even though we are at school and wearing masks, you can definitely tell when someone smiles at you.

 

3. Pick up trash

Even though there might not be anyone around, it’s being respectful and kind to your surroundings.

 

4. Forgive

If someone makes a genuine mistake like accidentally bumping into you. Forgive them and tell them not to worry about it.

 

5. Listen before speaking

Listening to someone is one of the best ways to show them kindness. Let them finish speaking, and then you can add your thoughts to it.

 

6. Write down three reasons you are proud of yourself

Ultimately, if you can’t be kind to yourself it’s hard to be kind to others. Take a few minutes out of your day to appreciate yourself.

 

7. Spend at least the first 10 minutes of your day off your phone

By spending the first few minutes of your day off your phone, you’re giving yourself a more positive mindset for the start of your morning.

 

8. Write down a compliment on a Post-It Note

On the Post-It write one thing your thankful for and give it to a friend, family member, or teacher that you appreciate.

 

9. Be non-judgemental

By judging others you’re not making yourself or the person feel better about themselves. Be kind instead!

 

10. Consistently do these little acts of kindness

We go through our daily lives existing most of the time. We rush from place to place not really acknowledging those around us. So start smiling at strangers, saying hello and thanking them for holding a door open or letting you cross the road in front of them. To change the world we need to continually do the little things every single day.
